City of Cleveland

Another great article about Tobermory and why you should come up and dive with G+S.

Check out the great photos. This is a really great shot at the City of Cleveland! G+S would like to get more people interested in the City of Cleveland so we can go there more often.  It is the only trip we take that we need a minimum of 8 divers and great weather...we don't want everyone seasick when we get there.

Divers do not need a Park Tag to dive this site. It is off the beaten track, so you can be one of a handful of divers who have done so.

The Sweepstakes & City of Grand Rapids

Here is a great article on the two shipwrecks in Big Tub Harbour in Tobermory.

The photos are fantastic, if all from a boat.  Worth having a look at, however.

The Sweepstakes, above, is perfect for all kinds of water sports.  Diving, of course, snorkeling, swimming and kayaking. That's why G+S makes sure to cater to all water enthusiasts.  Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy this wonder of nature...and all the other attractions in the water at Tobermory.

For the non-divers, G+S offers a discover scuba diving on another often photographed wreck, the Alice G. So if you have always wanted to try diving, take your vacation in Tobermory and give it a shot! Its the experience of a lifetime...and may lead to becoming a certified diver.

Guess this word

Can you guess this word? Here's a hint...G+S has this on its dive schedule for the May long weekend. Check our calendar if you want the hint...it is at 2:00pm.

We are itchin' to get back into the water. Our Crane Day (lift in) is scheduled for the end of April, but we still have ice. It has been such a long Canadian winter.

As mentioned above, we are now taking bookings for the May long weekend. We feel fairly confident that the ice will be gone by then (just kidding). So check out what we have scheduled and give us a call to book. If you don't see what you really want, we may still have a boat open that we can schedule to your favourite destination.

Clear waters of Tobermory

Check out this article on the Daily News Dig.

It lists the 35 clearest waters in the world that you just have to swim in within your lifetime.  Tobermory is number 11.

What do you think? Lots of G+S divers, snorkelers and swimmers have been to lots of exotic locations. How did the clear water of Georgian Bay compare to other places you have been?

Frozen Paradise

2014 has been a cold and snowy winter. Worst in a very long time (or best if you are a winter sport fanatic). Some people are starting to thaw out and lose some of the snow on the ground, but  if you are wondering how we are doing up here in Tobermory, James Hooey shared the video below on YouTube. A great aerial shot of our frozen paradise.

Tobermory still has about 2-3 feet of snow on the ground (deeper in snow banks) but Highway #6 is clear and dry (today) and if you want to see this for yourself.  So hop in the car, fill up with gas, and head on up. The travelling should be pretty good.

Crane Day, when the boats are scheduled to be lifted back in at Little Tub Harbour, is scheduled for the end of April, but you will see from James' video, there is not a single drop of water showing through this sheet of ice.

Do you think it will be thawed in time for the boats to go in? Share your prediction of when you think the ice will break up and leave Little Tub Harbour.

Beautiful Tobermory in the Snow

Tobermory is still under a few feet of snow, but the day is sunny and the weather is slowly warming up.

Have you ever gone ice diving? Do you want to learn? This might be just the perfect time to do it. There are a couple of hotels open. The snowmobiling or snowshoeing is perfect. There is no one around, so you have the place to yourself.

And...of course...G+S is open for coffee, convenience, air fills, diving gear, whatever. Mornings and evenings. Every Day. Just call.
